留下來，好讓另一個能去

我想先說我自己。Let me start with myself.

在工場上待久了，我會以為這份工是「我的」。After long enough on the field, I can start to think the work is "mine."

這支影片，是那位收我作女兒的長者，談一件她看得很重的事：把位子讓出來，讓下一個人接上。This video is the elder who took me in as a daughter, on something she holds dear: making room for the next person to take your place.

她說：「我們開始服事不久，就要開始培育別人來接替我們。」In her words: "There's a time that we in Christian service begin to train others to take our place."

她說我也很早就這樣做了——培育人，再讓那些人去培育人。She says I started early too—raising people, and then those people raising people.

她說：「要把自己複製出去，事工才走得下去；否則，等那個人離開了，事工也就跟著結束。」She says: "It's important to reproduce yourself, so the ministry goes on; otherwise it dies off when the leader dies off."

我認得這個試探：把恩典握成「我的」。I know this temptation: to grip grace as if it were "mine."

她接著講到一種人——留下來的人，好讓另一個能出去。Then she speaks of a kind of person—the one who stays, so that another can go.

她說：「我們把一個人差到有危險、有挑戰的世界去；你一旦知道這個，就知道該怎麼為他禱告。」She says: "We're sending someone out into a world where there's danger and challenges; when you know that, it determines how you pray for them."

差出去的那一個，從來不是一個人在走。The one who is sent never walks alone.

留下來的人——寄錢、寫信、記得生日、保持聯絡、天天禱告——就是那個出去的人腳下的路。The ones who stay—who send money, write letters, remember birthdays, keep in touch, pray every day—are the road under the feet of the one who goes.

她說，這樣，在外面的那個人就不會覺得自己被忘了。She says this way, the one out there doesn't feel forgotten.

她替那個人說出心裡的問題：「有人知道嗎？有人在乎嗎？」She voices the question in that person's heart: "Does anybody know? Does anybody care?"

留下來的人，就是那一句「有人在乎」的答案。The ones who stay are the answer to "somebody cares."

她也很誠實地提醒：只奉獻金錢是其中一部分，是好的，他們同時也需要禱告。She is honest too: giving money is part of it, and it is good—and they also need prayer.

然後她講了一個老故事，我在第一篇也聽她講過：Then she told an old story—I heard her tell it in the first interview too:

一對在工場的夫妻，當地同工說「今晚有人要來對付你們」；他們禱告，整夜沒有人來。A couple on the field; the local workers said "people are coming after you tonight"; they prayed, and all night no one came.

後來才知道，那一夜院子四圍站滿了拿著武器的衛兵——人數，正好就是母會那晚跪下為他們禱告的人數。Later they learned that guards with weapons had stood all around the compound that night—and the number was exactly the number of people kneeling in prayer at their home church.

她要指的，是那條看不見的路：跪著的人，把保護一路送到了工場。What she is pointing to is that unseen road: the people kneeling carried protection all the way to the field.

她說，除了為身體禱告，也要為情緒、為家庭、為和人相處的關係禱告——這些都要記得帶到神面前。She says to pray not only for the body, but for the emotions, the family, the relationships with people—bring all of it to God.

我聽完，心裡安靜下來。When she finished, something in me went quiet.

這就是 me 到 us 到 WE：我把棒子交下去，也讓別人留下來托住我。This is me to us to WE: I hand the baton on, and I also let others stay and hold me up.

孕育下一代、托住正在去的那一個——這兩件事，是同一條路的兩頭。Cultivating the next generation, and holding up the one who is going—these are the two ends of one road.

她說：「我們所獻上的禱告是有能力的，是有功效的，是非常、非常需要的。」In her words: "The prayers that we make are powerful, and they are working, and very, very needed."
